Amr Ali from the April 6 Movement is to stand trial in Egypt. The 2011 uprising youth leader is accused of “inciting a general strike,” an official prosecution.
His trial and that of three other activists of the movement banned in 2014, will open on Wednesday morning.
The April 6 Movement is a movement of young secular activists who were key in the protests that drove President Hosni Mubarak from power in 2011.
Ali has been in detention since September. His lawyer said Anas Sayyid Ali is liable to three years in prison if found guilty.

Egyptian police arrested in recent months several leaders of this movement and have been remanded in custody on charges of inciting violence.
